The Find

The story of how  we got this camper a bit wild but we had a LOT of LUCK!  We were driving down a local highway where we have driven many times before, as I was driving I was glancing over to the side of the highway, where the state has been cutting down all the trees and brush. At almost the same instant we both shouted "hey an old camper"  we agreed that it looked like an older Shasta Compact, we had been looking for a nice one to restore. The early Shasta Compacts are not all that easy to find esp. locally. Well with some good detective work by my wife. Within an hour we had a phone # for the homeowner. I called and the nice lady who answered told me it belonged tto her brother in law who had passed away, she gave me his daughters phone number to call.

I called the daughter and left a message. Later that day she called me and I told her I was interested in restoring the camper, if she should decide to sell it.  She said she would go look it over and get back to me, as she had not looked inside it in years. Three weeks later she called me back and told me it was in rough shape but if interested I should stop over for a look. We arrived for a look and my wife immediatly recognised the Daughter and after a few minutes the realised they had worked together many years ago.  To make a long story short, though there is some bad water damage we decided to take the project on.  The price??? FREE!
